Lip Flip

Many women and men are seeking to have fuller-looking lips without the use of volumising products. At Bella Plastic Surgery, we offer non-surgical treatment that specifically target the upper lip muscles, allowing the upper lip to gently roll outwards, resulting in a subtle lip flip.

LIP FLIP TREATMENT

A non-surgical lip flip treatment is different to lip augmentation treatment. The lip flip treatment aims to enhance the appearance of the lips by exposing more of the upper lip which creates a temporary illusion of fuller lips.

HOW DOES IT WORK

The muscles around the mouth increase the upper lip to invert. We use products that inhibit the neurotransmitters, responsible for causing the upper lip muscle contraction.

The lip flip treatment can be an ideal option for patients who are seeking a very subtle enhancement to their lips.

HOW LONG DO RESULTS LAST?

The lip flip treatment in a non-invasive procedure is typically quick and minimally invasive.  Results generally last for several weeks to a couple of months, depending on the amount of product being administered and individual factors such as muscle activity and metabolism.

If you cease the treatments, your muscles will return to normal, and your upper lip will return to its original state.

RETURNING TO NORMAL ACTIVIES

Normal activities can be resumed soon after your lip flip treatment. However, you should avoid strenuous exercise or massaging the area for the first 24 hours after treatment.

POTENTIAL RISKS

Every non-surgical procedure involves a certain amount of risk, and it is important that you understand these risks and the possible complications associated. Majority of patients do not experience the following, but you should discuss each with your physician to ensure you understand.

Common side effects may occur immediately or may be delayed.

Pain, burning, stinging, bruising, swelling or redness at the injection site; local muscle weakness including drooping eyelids or eyebrows; swollen eyelids, skin tightness, itching or aching forehead, headaches, nausea and/or flu like symptoms.

Although exceedingly rare, in some cases the effect of the product may be observed beyond the site of injection and the following symptoms may occur – loss of strength and muscle weakness, drooping of upper eyelid, double or blurred vision, trouble speaking, constipation, aspiration and trouble swallowing.  These symptoms can happen hours to weeks after treatment and are more likely to occur in patients treated with high doses or who have underlying conditions that would predispose to the above.
