Breast Lift (Mastopexy) + Implants Sydney Before & After Gallery
Are you considering a procedure to change the position and shape of your breasts that sit lower than you prefer?
Pregnancy, breastfeeding, weight loss and ageing are all common reasons to seek a Breast Lift to address breast ptosis (breast droop). It’s important to note that while a Breast Lift can help elevate, improve the tone and shape of the breasts, it does not add volume, like a standard Breast Augmentation Mammoplasty (BAM) does.
This Breast Lift gallery features dozens of Dr Dona’s real-life breast lift patients.
What is a Breast Lift (Mastopexy)?
A Breast Lift, or Mastopexy Surgery lifts and reshape breasts by removing excess skin and repositioning the nipple and areola. A Breast Lift can be performed to:
- Address breast position following ptosis (sag) after pregnancy, breastfeeding, weight loss or ageing
- Reshape and elevate the breast by repositioning the nipple
- Add volume when combined with a Breast Augmentation
- Lift and reduce when combined with a Breast Reduction
- Address concurrent issues such as inverted nipples in a single procedure
There are multiple Breast Lift techniques, each involving different scar patterns.
However, the Anchor Lift, (anchor-shaped scar), is generally suited to most patients, especially where stability and anchoring are required.
The Breast Lift (Mastopexy) is generally performed at Kingsgrove Day Hospital, under general anaesthetic.
Bella Plastic Surgery is located in Bella Vista in the Hills District, but also frequently services interstate and international patients. Discover more information for Interstate and international patients here.
The displayed before and after pictures are provided as an educational tool to demonstrate some of the results achievable from plastic surgery. All surgeries on this page are performed by Dr Eddy Dona and are published with the written consent by the patients.

The content on this page is general in nature and is not a substitute for a formal consultation. Before proceeding, please seek medical advice from an appropriately qualified medical practitioner.
The outcomes shown are only relevant for these patients and are not a guarantee that you will have similar results, even if you have a similar body type or shape. Results may vary due to many factors including an individual’s genetics and lifestyle.
Will a Breast Lift (Mastopexy) change my breast size?
A Breast Lift can make the breasts appear more elevated and firmer.
However, it does not add volume and in fact, breasts may even appear smaller after removal of excess skin.
When extra volume is desired, a breast lift can be combined with a Breast Augmentation.
What are the scars like for a Breast Lift?
Scars are initially visible but are meticulously planned and performed so scars follow natural skin folds where possible.
After a Breast Lift, redness typically reduces in a few weeks, although scar maturation can take up to a year.
As part of your recovery, you will also receive our HeaLED Post-Surgery Care Plan which involves using light therapy and medical-grade skin care products, designed to expedite the healing process and optimise scar outcomes.
Microneedling is offered as an adjunct treatment to help with scar management. This program often starts on day of discharge or the following day post-surgery, and involves multiple weekly visits in-clinic for several weeks.
Can I breastfeed after a Breast Lift (Mastopexy)?
While many individuals can breastfeed after a Breast Lift, some may not.
The procedure involves repositioning the nipple and reshaping breast tissue, which may affect milk ducts and glandular structures.
Dr Dona will explain any potential risks to breastfeeding ability and whether an alternative surgical approach may be appropriate to help preserve breastfeeding function.
Can a Breast Lift (Mastopexy) be combined with other procedures?
Yes, a Breast Lift can be combined with a Breast Augmentation (BAM) to lift and add volume.
It can also be combined with a Breast Reduction to remove excess skin.
A Breast Lift may also be combined with other surgical procedures to address issues such as inverted nipples.
What is the recovery time after surgery?
Patients can generally leave the hospital on the same day (after a one and a half to two hour surgery), with a support person required for their collection. Often a support person may be required to provide care during the first week.
It is normal to experience discomfort and pain following your surgery, which settles after a few weeks.
- Typically, patients can start gentle walking from day one, driving after one week and return to light office work after one week. Strenuous jobs can typically resume at week six.
- Normal lifting and physical sports can be considered after four weeks.
- No heavy lifting for six weeks.
