BIO Lift™ (Breast Implant Only) and Breast Lift (Mastopexy) – what’s the difference?

• The BIO Lift™ (Breast Implant Only Lift) is a 60-90 minute procedure, designed to increase the breast volume and provide an indirect breast lift, while minimising scarring. The scar is approximately 5cm and is hidden under the under the breast fold.
• By comparison, the Breast Lift (Mastopexy) is a procedure that typically incorporates a more extensive anchor scar pattern, which involves a horizontal scar in the breast fold and a vertical scar that extends from the breast fold, up to the areola, as well as a circular scar around the areola.

What is the recovery like for a BIO Lift™?

• Most individuals can return to work within a week or two following their procedure. However, recovery can vary.
• In most cases, driving can commence one-week post-surgery.
• If your work is sedentary and involves light desk duties, you can generally return to work after one week.
• If you have a more strenuous job, Dr Dona will advise when you can return to work.
• Avoid heavy lifting for the first six weeks.
• After six weeks, you can ease into everyday activities.
• It generally takes three to six months for your breasts to fully settle and see your final results.
• Individuals receive a tailored HeaLED Post-Surgery Care Plan which involves the use of light therapy and medical-grade skin care products, designed to expedite the healing process and optimise scar outcomes. Microneedling is offered as an adjunct treatment to help with scar management.
• This program often starts on the day of discharge or the following day after surgery, and involves multiple weekly visits in-clinic for several weeks.
